Here’s what the schedule looks like for race weekend:
THURSDAY, APRIL 18-
Pre-race check in from 5-9pm at this gorgeous home located in the national park, ten miles up Kolob Reservoir road. Click here for a map of how to get there from the start/finish line. The physical address is: 95 North Kolob Terrace Rd. Virgin, UT. Packet pickup and a free wood fired pizza from the Grumpy Goat for all runners. Additional pizzas can be purchased by friends/family. Drop bag drop off is also at this time.
FRIDAY, APRIL 19-
3:45-5:45am: Runner weigh-in. Each runner must be weighed the morning of the race in order to be counted among those crazy and brave enough to toe the line and attempt to run 100 miles.
4:00am: First group of early starters begins.
5:00am: Second group of early starters begins.
6:00am: The official 100 mile grind begins!
Rise Up Pizza will be around the start/finish line in the evening selling their fresh, organic, wood-fired pizza to support crew.
SATURDAY, APRIL 20
2:00am- 100k time cutoff (20 hours).
2:00pm- 100 mile time cutoff (32 hours).
12:00pm-7pm Tube the Virgin River. Pick up your tubes from Zion Outfitter. (145 Zion Park Blvd., Springdale, UT- Next to the Giant Screen Theatre and Cable Mountain Lodge.) If you show them your race bib, you won’t be charged. Normal rental price is $15 for tube rental and tube pickup. Non runners will need to pay for their tube rentals. You can ride the free shuttle back to the Brew Pub from the river take out point. (Busses pass by about every 15 min.)
3:00- Screening of “Unbreakable” at the Zion Canyon Giant Screen Theatre with Q&A from director JB Benna and Producer Jen Benna.
5-8:00pm- From the theatre, walk across the parking lot to the Brew Pub, just in front of the walk-in entrance to Zion National Park. Runners will receive a complimentary brat, burger, grilled chicken, or veggie burger. You can enjoy the only fresh draft beer in southern Utah (from Zion Canyon Brewing Co.) on the patio overlooking the Virgin river while listening to live music.
Is there a race meeting Thursday night besides the pre-race check-in?
Nope. Just the check in. Meeting agenda items will be on a handout distributed there and you can approach us with any additional questions after reading it over.
Drop Bags…do we check them in Thursday evening or Friday morning?
Preferably Thurs. evening but we’ll accept them Fri morning as well
Matt, my Southwest flight that was supposed to leave Oakland at 130 pm is now leaving at 405 pm (raising my stress level a bit). Will there still be pizza and drop bag collection as late as 9 pm?
